Where it stands

Skipped

Twin port refuted at the level of upstream's invariant. Lockstep needs P: every D0 has a 0 on its left.

Read the full status

With a 1 there the machines split, and 728 gains a halting route the twin lacks (t[p-4..p-1]=0001: D0 A1 F0 B0, then C0 halts). P holds in simulation (2e9 steps each, about 2e8 D0 events, none violating), but upstream's certificate does not contain it. The native event-by-event replay of nonhalt216's exact FAR call closes with 10,461 events, and its closure evaluates block transitions where E, entered by D0, reads blocks 10/11 (12 frame/pop pairs) and D retL C<: A reads a 1 at the left end). So upstream's argument does not carry over from any opening of 728.

About this picture

The standard picture (bbchallenge.org's Default view): each row is the whole tape at one step, time runs downward, and the head's path draws the pattern.

Overview

In one sentence

identity (same names, same start A, no mirror); tables differ only in D0: 728 0LA, twin 1LE. If D reads 0 at p with t[p-1]=0, 728 runs D0 A0 B0 C1 and the twin runs D0 E0, and both end in the same configuration (A at p-2, t[p-1]=t[p]=1); only cells p-1,p are read, so this holds for every tape. No port, no delta proof.md. Candidate for direction 5 (regular-language search): the target invariant must exclude 'D reads 0 with a 1 on its left' while covering the twin's orbit. scripts/fartrace.ml + scripts/pcheck.py test any FAR closed set for P in seconds.

Those configurations are harmless for the twin (E1 1RA, A1 1LF, F1 0LD) but in 728 a P-violation next to blank cells halts (D0 A1 F0 B0 C0); the same call on 728 fails exactly in that shape (retL F< -> retL C<: A reads a 1 at the left end). Importing nonhalt216 (or copying its solve_cert) proves the twin only; the missing P is a new nonhalting-strength invariant, and CTL62 brings PArray/Uint63, which the unchanged check_kill baseline rejects. No Perm or Flip is needed (identity relation). A kill needs a regular invariant for 728 itself that tracks the alignment of the (0011)^m region (CTL format: left NFA, right NFA, key set) through Astra's package, i.e. direction 5, or a hand proof of P plus a gate-passing twin proof.",
