Where it stands
Parked at the observation
Halting hunt H-3 (exact model) ended without a halt. Exact run-length model (TM4 labels with each machine's own D0; upstream P0_n plus derived batch rules W (wave), A (absorption), P (passes) over the word run U=(0 1^2); Python + validated C port) ran 244 to epoch 108, b ~ 10^35.9, ~10^(1.1e+35) TM steps; 216 to epoch 97, b ~ 10^32.1, ~10^(1.8e+31) TM steps; 701 to epoch 96, b ~ 10^31.8, ~10^(9e+30) TM steps.

No halt. Brief corrected: the differing transition (244's C0 = TM4-label D0) is not startup-only. It fires at every right-end event (first post-startup at step 402,723,884, checked with tools/sim on the holdout string), so these machines do not run TM4's table. Real step counts are doubly exponential (P0_n costs 24*2^n-6n-24 steps). Halting needs a post-wave config F> 0 0 1^L 0 with L=1; census over the whole run: never (min L: 244 2, 216 5, 701 4). Right-end routines are linear; the only 1-block doors are g=4 in routine (ii) for 244 and k=0 in routine (i) for 216/701. Neither ever occurs (right-end event grammar is rigid). Injected into real contexts they halt 12/40 (244) and 38/40 (216). 244's nearest door: k2 events need gap G<=16 to step to k3; the run's minimum is G=18. Model checked: 2022/2022 rule checks on constructed tapes; 14/14 direct-simulation anchors on the original holdout strings (tools/sim C engine, up to 1.5e11 steps for each of 244, 216, 701); plain vs batched full tapes at every epoch start to 19 (244: 21); Python vs C at 64 epochs; TM4's certified halt reproduced (1012 macro moves, ~1.341e395 steps). Not cryptid (nested counter comparisons, no modular step). Nonhalting looks like the true answer; the right-end grammar is the lead (216/701 especially: after startup only k4/g3 or big events). Upstream works this side (CounterClass3v2).

About this picture
The standard picture (bbchallenge.org's Default view): each row is the whole tape at one step, time runs downward, and the head's path draws the pattern.
